About
Asian Australian actor, Charlye L, was born in Hong Kong and raised in Sydney, Australia. He majored in Asian languages, and was an exchange student in Japan and Korea. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and Korean.
Charlye L started modelling while he was on exchange in South Korea. He attended Modelline Academy and was soon a professional model on the runway of Seoul Collection. He then continued his stay in Korea for another 3 years and received training at an acting school. Although Charlye L speaks fluent Korean, he felt that not being able to speak entirely like a native limited his chance at getting roles. Hence, he transitioned to Taiwan. Ironically, he did not speak a word of Mandarin Chinese, and could only work as a model in prints or commercials.
In Taiwan, Charlye L won first place in a national modelling contest (Men's Uno), and when he mastered the Chinese language, he made his cinematic debut in No.174: Destiny Rebellion playing the title character, No.174, an agent of destiny.
